Ghost of tsushima completed map3/18/2024 ![]() ![]() As a result, if you choose to play with the excellent Japanese audio track, which features the outstanding Kazuya Nakai as Jin, it comes off as a comparatively cheap dub with wildly mismatched lip flaps and facial expressions that don’t mirror the emotion in the voice. Khotun Khan is one of the most memorable game villains of recent memory. As good as the English voice cast is, though, it’s a shame that Sucker Punch wasn’t able to find a way to have the performance capture match the Japanese voice acting as well. He’s extremely cunning, always one step ahead, and his presence as the “Big Bad” is a large part of why Jin’s 40 to 50-hour quest for vengeance works so well. He’s one of the most memorable game villains of recent memory thanks to his soft intensity that is oddly calming despite his terrifying intentions. Even if Jin himself isn’t the most charismatic of protagonists, his foil, Khotun Khan, played by Glee’s Patrick Gallagher, has charisma in spades. Ghost of Tsushima revolves around this inner conflict as Jin’s formative teachings push up against his need to save his homeland at any cost, and though it takes a little while to really get going, it’s a compelling struggle. You take control of Jin Sakai, capably acted by The Man in the High Castle’s Daisuke Tsuji, who starts off as a samurai before a disastrous battle against the invaders quickly teaches him that perhaps the honorable but restrictive ways of the samurai code might not be enough to deal with this new and existential threat. Ghost of Tsushima is a fictional tale told with fictional characters, but it’s based on the very real invasion of Japan by the Mongol Empire in 1274 that began on the Island of Tsushima. ![]() There are some stumbles when it comes to stealth, enemy AI, and a few general minor frustrations, but for just about every moment where Ghost of Tsushima falters, there are plenty more where it soars. Sucker Punch’s latest is an absolutely gorgeous adventure through one of history’s most strikingly beautiful landscapes, and that beauty is compounded by one of the best blade-to-blade combat systems the open-world action genre has seen. ![]() Consider that itch sufficiently scratched with Ghost of Tsushima. Ever since Assassin’s Creed started leaping from ancient Jerusalem to renaissance Italy to colonial America and beyond, there has been a longstanding itch to see the open-world stealth-action series take on feudal Japan. ![]()

Free pascal resize image3/18/2024 ![]() Yes, this suffers from aliasing – but I can live with it – it’s good enough for me so I hope it’s good enough for you. The only solution I’ve come up is to programmatically resize (or more precisely upsize) depending on the logical DPI setting. BUT, I still want my application to look usable even on 250% DPI scaling. If you have your glyphs in all needed sizes you can accomplish this by storing all the images you use in your UI directly inside your executable as a resource, then depending on the DPI scaling load the needed size and apply to UI.Īs said, I do not have those glyphs in various needed sizes – I’m stuck with 16×16 pixels. When I say pixel perfect I mean you would want to have a glyph that is not upsized or downsized by resizing – as stretching a bitmap will suffer from aliasing effect. Now, and again, ideally you would want to display pixel perfect 40×40 bitmap when on 250% DPI. I guess most of you are in the same position. I’m no graphics guru – have no plans (read: time) to redraw all those glyphs to have them in various pixel perfect sizes. I’ve used those for menus, toolbars, buttons and all around my UI. ![]() At that time I’ve used bitmaps shipped with Delphi and those are 16 x 16 pixels (actually 32×16 as the image has the mask in it). ![]() I’ve started developing this particular application of mine some 10+ years ago. Do you have all the images/bitmaps you use in your application in 40×40 px size? Do you have them in 20×20 (125%) and 24×24 (150%) and 32×32 (200%) and 48×48 (300%) and so on. ![]() Say you run your application on a 15’’ laptop with resolution set to 3480×2160 and scaling set to 250% (240 DPI) – the ideal glyph size for this is 40×40 pixels as 250% of 16 is 40. Now what? How to have those images at the correct size for the applied DPI scaling? However, you open up the application’s main menu (or any popup menu) set to display images from an image list – and your fancy images appear super small (or are not drawn at all when you move your mouse over items)? The same small images appear on toolbars? You then note buttons having their Glyph property set to display some 16×16 pixels graphics – caption font is ok, but the glyph is also barely visible. So, you’ve made your Delphi application high-DPI aware and after a few manual fixes the UI looks more or less usable on 4K displays having logical DPI values set to more than 100% (96 DPI). ![]()

Google authenticator uplay3/18/2024 ![]() Ubisoft recommends using Google Authenticator, but you can use other apps as well. To prevent your account from being stolen or misused, you can download a free authenticator app and sign in to Ubisoft using it. If you’ve lost your authenticator, there’s no need to panic! Ubisoft support is available around the clock. Store these codes somewhere safe and be sure to have access to your old device. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be prompted with six recovery codes. If you’ve lost the device, you can use your recovery code to re-establish the feature on the new device. You can also try recovering your lost or stolen authenticator. If this happens, you can still log in to your Ubisoft account, by simply using your Trusona app. However, they can help you if you lose or misplace your authenticator. ![]() They will guide you through the process, but unfortunately, they won’t be able to see the recovery code associated with your personal authenticator. If you’re having trouble using 2-Step Verification on your Ubisoft account, you can contact Ubisoft Support. In the next screen, tap on the link that says “Enable Google Authenticator.” Follow the instructions to enable Google Authenticator, then sign in to your Ubisoft account. To enable this feature, go to your profile settings, then click on the Security tab. How do I get my Ubisoft authenticator code? Activating two-step verification on your Ubisoft account is the first step in enabling two-factor authentication. How do I get my Ubisoft Authenticator code? For this reason, you’ll have to open a support ticket with Ubisoft Office. It seems that the code doesn’t work in uPlay because most applications validate codes with spaces. But some users have reported that their problem was resolved by typing the code without spaces. This space is added to the code for more clarity. Typically, Google Authenticator generates a code with three numbers and a space. Moreover, you need to have access to your old device to transfer the verification codes. The first step is to receive six recovery codes, which you must store on your old device. So, if you decide to switch to a new device, you’ll need to finalize the process. Your 2-step verification will remain connected to your original device. Using your existing 2-factor authentication method on the Ubisoft website will be impossible once you’ve installed Ubisoft. ![]() How do I change Google Authenticator to Ubisoft?

Duties regarding use of windshield wipers, ice protection and landing lights should be delegated. ![]() A monitored approach is compulsory under the following circumstances:Ģ. The monitored approach procedure is suitable for all precision (ILS) and non-precision as an alternative, it would be easy to create an RNAV waypoint (Place/Bearing/Distance from the VOR) at the required position, but then I have the switchover problem described above.Īny suggestions, or is this just a limitation of the simulation compared to the real world?ġ. I guess in real life, the PM would make a callout when the required DME is reached, but this is hard to do in the simulation. ![]() This is difficult to do in single-pilot operations on the simulated ATR because DME2 is not displayed on the Captain's side (NAV1 is tuned to the ILS, NAV2 is tuned to the VOR). For example, consider a procedure such as the ILS 10 at EDDN (Nuremberg): From the IAF (a VOR with DME), we fly outbound on a particular radial until reaching a particular DME, then turn to intercept the ILS. This problem is kind of exacerbated because in single-pilot operations (which I know aren't permissible in the real world), even "classical" initial approaches can be much easier to fly in RNAV. Or am I missing something here? In real life, would the Pilot Monitoring have the ILS tuned on his nav set and make an appropriate callout when the localizer comes alive? Or is RNAV simply not allowed for the approach phase of the flight? ![]() In the ATR, this doesn't really seem to be possible, because the ILS deviation information isn't even displayed when in "RNV" mode, so there's no way to know when to switch from "RNV" to "V/L". In many aircraft, localizer and glideslope deviation is displayed even when flying in RNAV mode, and "ILS" or "approach" mode can be armed while still in RNAV mode, so the initial approach can be flown using RNAV with a seamless switchover to the ILS when established. I would be grateful for some information on how this is handled in real life. I've been flying the ATR for a while now, but one thing that I've always found a bit cumbersome to use is the switchover between the nav modes "V/L" and "RNV" on the EFIS Control Panel. ![]()

Paper by wetransfer3/17/2024 ![]() ![]() What was that moment like for you and your team? And then Apple came out with something called.Pencil. WIRED: So what’s interesting is that your app Paper was, from the beginning, considered to be an Apple darling. I don’t think we ever disclosed how many we sold. This was also the very unusual part: It was a profitable hardware program. WIRED: How many Pencils did you sell? Was it profitable for FiftyThree? So it wasn’t, ‘Can we build the product?’ but instead, ‘Are we building the right product?’ But in our case, many people at FiftyThree had reached levels in their careers where they were comfortable with it. So in a way, yes, hardware is hard and I absolutely wouldn’t do that if you didn’t have a great network and team. GP: Yes, hardware is hard but when you look at our founding hardware team.I mean John Ikeda was part of the development team that created the original Xbox 360 controller our head of engineering led engineering at Sonos our product manager who was running the program ran the supply chain for Sonos as well. So what was it that made you say, let’s make hardware? But at the same time hardware is really hard, especially in the startup world if you don’t have the supply chain or product management expertise. WIRED: What strikes me is that it sounds like you’re saying that transition to hardware was a pretty natural thing. That ended up leading to the development of Pencil. The next step for us then, which really started in 2012, was to think through the stylus as a tool. It really changed people’s perception of the iPad, but for us, it also put FiftyThree on the map. That lead to the Paper app, where you could take the ideas in your head and quickly translate them via your fingertips into ink strokes. When we looked at it, we clearly saw the iPad for creativity. Maybe it was going to be the next big video service. Maybe it was going to be the next-generation magazine, with publishers creating new magazine formats. 'it wasn’t until Cambridge Analytica that I would say consumers really started becoming more aware of what is happening when you use free software.'Īnd then when iPad launched, it wasn’t clear what iPad was going to be for. As for the future of FiftyThree’s suite of apps, including Paper, which has 25 million users, the company says the apps will live on with “increased investment and support.” FiftyThree’s executive team and product teams will stay on board for now. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but WeTransfer said it had acquired the company’s entire patent portfolio and all assets for its apps. Today FiftyThree announced its apps and team have been acquired by WeTransfer, a cloud-based file transfer company with headquarters in Amsterdam and Los Angeles. Its $60, soft-nibbed, walnut stylus, called Pencil, presaged Apple’s eventual entry into the world of stylii. Tech writers described it as “the next great iPad app”, “a superbly designed sketching app,” and “a fresh canvas ready and waiting for your ideas, inspiration, and art.” FiftyThree later expanded to include an iPhone app, an optional subscription called Paper Pro, and Paste, a collaboration app.įiftyThree also managed to do what few app startups have done: make and sell hardware. Despite its simplicity and also because of it, Apple crowned it the iPad App of the Year. Back in 2012, a Seattle-based startup named FiftyThree launched a drawing app designed exclusively for iPad, with a name that sounded like it was designed specifically for an Apple crowd: Paper. ![]() |
